Hearts' under-20s player development manager, Jack Ross, has left the Scottish Premiership club.

The 39-year-old joined their coaching team in July 2014, working under head coach Robbie Neilson.

No reason has been given for the departure of the former Clyde, Falkirk and St Mirren defender.

Director of football Craig Levein told the club's official website: "After discussions with Jack yesterday, it was confirmed that he would leave."

Levein added: "We would like to put on record our appreciation for all of the excellent work carried out by Jack during his time with us and for the dedication and commitment he has shown in helping us towards achieving our long-term goals."
