Emma Hayes guided Chelsea to the first two trophies in their history this season

Chelsea Ladies boss Emma Hayes played down their chances of Champions League glory after reaching the last 16.

The Women's Super League champions won their first ever European tie 4-0 on aggregate, beating Glasgow City 3-0 away in the second leg on Wednesday.

"Our goal was the last 16," Hayes told BBC Scotland. "We have achieved that goal. (Now) it all depends on the draw.

"If we draw one of the top two or three teams in Europe, that's very challenging, in our first season."

After Liverpool were knocked out by Italian side Brescia, Chelsea are now the only British side left in the competition.

Goals from Eniola Aluko, Fran Kirby and defender Gilly Flaherty saw the league and FA Cup winners see off Scottish champions Glasgow.

Flaherty added: "We're not going to be naive and say we're going to go on and win it.

Who are the favourites?

Holders and record three-time winners Frankfurt beat Paris Saint-Germain in the 2015 final.

The German side lead 2-0 after their first leg against Standard Liege, and host the Belgian side in the return leg on Thursday.

"Any distance that we get is going to be a personal best for us, and history for the club. We have got nothing to lose. There's no pressure on us."

Flaherty is part of a Chelsea defence that has conceded just twice in their last 10 games.

"Going forward we're deadly, but defensively, we are the best team in England," Hayes added.

"Coming away without conceding was as important as winning the game.

"I think Glasgow probably realised why we're champions of England, after that performance."

Chelsea will find out their next opponents in Monday's draw for the last 16, with former winners Wolfsburg and Lyon among the sides to progress.

However, German league winners Bayern Munich were knocked out on away goals by Dutch side FC Twente.
