Wales 'can cope without' Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey

Wales will be out to prove they are not a "one or two-man team" in Friday's friendly with the Netherlands, says defender Ben Davies.

Forward Gareth Bale and midfielder Aaron Ramsey will miss Wales' first Euro 2016 warm-up through injury.

Both were instrumental in the qualifying campaign, but Davies says Wales can cope without them.

"We've lost two very good players but we're confident that everyone in this squad is there for a reason," he said.

"We don't have anyone here just making up the numbers. This is definitely a chance to prove that we're not a one or two-man team, which of course we've been labelled."

Real Madrid's Bale has been left out of the squad after a recent calf injury, although the 26-year-old made his comeback in his side's 3-2 defeat at Sevilla last Sunday.

Midfielder Ramsey missed the game at Cardiff City Stadium after suffering a hamstring injury in Arsenal's Champions League win over Bayern Munich on 20 October.

Bale scored seven goals in Euro 2016 qualification while Ramsey contributed two as Wales secured their placed at next year's finals in France.

Both players also missed Wales' last game against the Dutch, a 2-0 defeat in June 2014.

"We have needed the quality they've got to get us through some games," former Swansea City player Davies, 22, added.

"But there are chances now for other players and the chance as a team to show that we're not all about one or two players."

Sam Vokes sat out the Wales training session on Tuesday because of a groin strain. The Burnley striker will be assessed again on Wednesday.
