Crewe Alexandra: League One strugglers target loan striker

Crewe boss Steve Davis is close to bringing in an experienced striker on loan to address the League One bottom club's lack of goals this season.
BBC Radio Stoke understands that the targeted player is negotiating his release from his current club.
With on-loan left-back Stephen Kingsley set to return to Swansea next week, it would free up the funds for Davis to strengthen his forward line.
"If we don't bring in another left-back in, we can do it," said Davis.
"I've had a word with (Crewe chairman) John Bowler. As long as it's not going to cost us a great deal of money we should be able to do it.
"We can use the money to sign a striker instead. It's a case of what we need to prioritise on the most. And the most important things is scoring goals."
Crewe, who are a point adrift at the foot of League One, have netted just 14 times in 17 games this season.
Goals have really dried up over the last month, during which they have scored just once in six league and cup games.
In that time, Davis's side have only won once, at home to Sheffield United, picked up just four points out of a possible 15 and been knocked out of the FA Cup by non-league Eastleigh.
