Peter Odemwingie has won 63 caps for Nigeria and played in the 2010 and 2014 World Cups

Stoke City striker Peter Odemwingie says the Potters' dressing room is the best he has experienced in his career and that helps as he tries to regain his place in the side.

The 34-year-old Nigeria international has made only four appearances this season after a serious knee injury kept him out for most of last term.

"We've been on a good run and there's nothing I can do about it," he said.

"But the atmosphere is fantastic - it's the best dressing room I've been in."

Former West Bromwich Albion forward Odemwingie, who joined Stoke from Cardiff in January 2014, ruptured cruciate ligaments at Manchester City in August 2014 and was out for eight months.

Odemwingie's career in England

Stoke City (Jan 2014 - present): 27 appearances, five goals.

Cardiff City (Sep 2013 - Jan 14): 17 appearances, two goals.

West Brom (Aug 2010 - Sep 2013): 90 appearances, 31 goals.

He returned in April and played in the opening game of this season against Liverpool before suffering another setback.

"I had a good pre-season and then I got a hamstring injury," Odemwingie, who signed a new one-year deal in July, told BBC Radio Stoke.

"I got myself back fit and had a game in the League Cup (against Fulham) and I've been training well.

"We have good quality players so I just have to accept the fact that there are many players like me in the country in the same situation.

"You had a good Christmas party after the Manchester City win and the boys are very happy together - that's a really important thing."
