Exeter chairman Julian Tagg was stopped in traffic by someone asking about tickets for the game against Liverpool.

The League Two Grecians face Jurgen Klopp's side in the FA Cup third round.

"We're owned by the supporters and run off a massive amount of volunteers and love for the club so the draw for them is massive," he told BBC Radio Devon.

"I was stopped at the traffic lights this morning and the person in front got out, came back and we started to have a discussion about tickets."

Exeter's last game against Liverpool was in the League Cup in 2011 at St James Park, a match which Kenny Dalglish's side won 3-1

Paul Tisdale's Exeter are 11th in the fourth tier and will come up against a Liverpool side who have undergone a revival under Klopp, reaching the Capital One Cup semi-finals and sitting eighth in the Premier League.

But the Grecians have experience of holding their own against top-flight teams, having drawn against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the FA Cup back in 2005, before losing the home replay.

"It's 10 years since that game at Manchester United and that was a 0-0 - that wouldn't be a terrible result," Tagg said.

"Alex Inglethorpe was our manager when we went to Old Trafford, and he's head of youth at Liverpool so hopefully he'll return."
