Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace have won eight Premier League games so far this season

Celebrating your team's win with a pint is not uncommon, but perhaps being joined by the manager in a pub is.

That's what Alan Pardew did after Crystal Palace beat Southampton 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday.

Pardew and his assistant Keith Millen joined a Palace fans' group, external who were celebrating 10 years since forming at a Selhurst pub.

Judging by the reaction on Twitter, it was a move that has only enhanced his popularity with Palace fans.

The 54-year-old has overseen an impressive transformation of the London club's fortunes since becoming manager in January 2015.

They were in the relegation zone when he took over and he led them to safety last season.

They are now are sixth in the Premier League, three points behind Manchester United.
