Conor Washington now has 12 goals this season and 11 in his last 11 matches

Conor Washington scored twice to seal victory for Peterborough over Chesterfield, whose new manager Danny Wilson watched from the stands.

Washington headed home a Marcus Maddison cross to put Posh ahead.

He clinched victory, firing past Tommy Lee after being released by home debutant Martin Samuelsen, for his 11th goal in as many games.

The result leaves troubled Chesterfield in 20th position, just two points above the relegation zone.

Posh's victory follows their Christmas Eve signing of forward Jordan Nicholson, 21, for an undisclosed fee from non-league Histon on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
