David Cushley will make the switch to Crusaders when his United contract expires

Ballymena United midfielder David Cushley is on his way to Crusaders after signing a three-year pre-contract with the Premiership champions.

The 26-year-old former Lisburn Distillery player rejected Ballymena's offer to extend his contract, which expires at the end of the season.

Cushley also spoke to Linfield and turned down a move to Windsor Park.

A wonder strike against the Blues on Saturday was the latest in a long list of spectacular goals by Cushley.

Cushley is in his second spell at the Showgrounds, scoring 12 goals in 81 games before being released in 2010.

He returned to the Sky Blues following his release by Lisburn Distillery in the summer of 2012.

Ballymena sit eighth in the Premiership standings while the Crues are eight points clear at the top.
