Ross County: Michael Gardyne becomes club's record goalscorer

Ross County midfielder Michael Gardyne says it feels "nice" to have become the Scottish Premiership club's all-time leading goalscorer.

Gardyne fired a double in the 3-2 win at home to Kilmarnock to move him onto 60 for the Dingwall outfit.

"It's nice. Obviously, I knew about the record before the game tonight," he told BBC Scotland.

"It was nice to beat it and to get the win was brilliant as well. I was feeling good coming into the game."

The midfielder notched a double as County moved to within a point of fourth-placed St Johnstone and eclipses Sean Higgins in County's scoring charts.

"We had a good start and dipped a bit in the first half. But we kicked on and deserved to win," he added.

"The wins are crucial and we will shore up at the back and stop conceding. As long as we're scoring goals and winning games then that's brilliant as well - to be pushing on the back of St Johnstone is great too.

"We set targets at the start of the season to have a cup run and finish in the top six. We're well on course for that: the semi-finals of the League Cup and doing alright in the top six.

"We've been in it (the top six) all season and the last thing you want to do is fall out of it. It's nice that the goals have been spread out throughout the team and that we don't need to rely on strikers to score all the time.

"When the wingers, midfielders and even defenders pop up with a few, that's great for the team as a whole."
