Ben Godfrey made 12 League Two appearances for York City

Premier League side Norwich have signed midfielder Ben Godfrey from League Two club York City on a three-and-a-half year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The 18-year-old made 15 appearances for the Minstermen, scoring one goal.

"York gave me the platform to kick on so I owe a lot to them, but it's about what happens next now," he told the Norwich website.

"Norwich is a huge club and I'm looking forward to developing myself as a player here."
