Mansfield Town manager Adam Murray says his in-form, new-look side can embrace any League Two play-off push without a heavy burden of expectation.

The Stags have climbed to fourth place following a run of three wins in four games - including a 2-2 draw away against third-placed Oxford on Tuesday.

Murray, whose team face Plymouth on Saturday, told BBC East Midlands Today: "Belief has grown but we're realistic.

"As long as we progressing, there is no pressure to do anything this season."

Murray, 34, took over as manager in December 2014, and is relishing the challenge at the top of the table after keeping the club in the Football League last term,

"With 15 new players, we knew we would experience the lows and highs," he added. "But we have come through the lows and we are on a high at the minute.

"We knew what we had in the dressing room at the start and it has just been a case of believing how good we can be and keeping realistic on the way.

"It is my first first season as a manager and my team's first season as a team so we will see how far we can go."

But not every aspect of management has appealed to the former Derby County midfielder.

"I'm getting fatter but I'm enjoying it," Murray joked. "We are enjoying succeeding at the moment. Success was always going to be about progression and at the minute we are progressing well.

"It's a huge game against Plymouth, but we go with no pressure. We are underdogs, and are the underdogs in the top seven. It's a big game against one of our rivals but we but we are going there to win."
