Grant Holt has made nine substitute appearances for Wigan and Wolves this season without scoring

League One side Rochdale have re-signed free agent striker Grant Holt on a deal until the end of the season.

Holt spent two years at Spotland between 2004 and 2006, scoring 42 goals in 83 outings for Dale.

The 34-year-old was released by Wigan last month after just five substitute outings this season, while he also spent time out on loan at Wolves.

He has spent time at 10 Football League clubs - including Norwich, Nottingham Forest and Shrewsbury.

The forward is available for Dale's game at Bradford on Saturday.
