Irish Premiership : Dungannon Swifts 2-0 Ballinamallard

Dungannon secured a crucial Premiership victory over the Mallards in the basement battle at Stangmore Park.

A lacklustre affair burst into life on 27 minutes when Alan Teggart slotted into the visitor's net.

Ryan Harpur made it 2-0 in the second half when he swept home from a deflected Douglas Wilson free-kick.

Ivan Sproule fired narrowly wide for Ballinamallard, who remain three points clear of the bottom and now three behind the Swifts.

It was a second straight win for Dungannon and they have also kept consecutive clean sheets for the first time this season.

Ballinamallard failed to clear Andrew Mitchell's cross and Teggart nipped in for the opener while Harpur reacted quickly to turn in from close range and double the lead.

The Mallards rarely threatened and Sproule's late miss completed a miserable day for the Fermanagh side.
