Nottingham Forest are set to have their transfer embargo lifted by the Football League, reports BBC Radio Nottingham.

A spokesman for the Football League said the club were close to emerging from the embargo they have been under since December 2014.

But he said there were "still one or two minor issues" to resolve.

Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi had earlier said on Twitter: , external"Good news - the Football League has confirmed the embargo will be lifted."

The Reds were placed under embargo for breaching Financial Fair Play rules for the 2013-14 season.

The Championship side have been unable to pay transfer fees in each of the last three transfer windows.
