Coventry City have offered midfielder John Fleck a new contract, but manager Tony Mowbray has released nine players following the Sky Blues' failure to win promotion from League One.

Former skipper Reda Johnson will leave following the end of his contract.

And striker Marc-Antoine Fortune has had his contract cancelled immediately.

Conor Thomas, Aaron Martin, Martin Lorentzson, Aaron Phillips, Peter Ramage, Stephen Hunt and Darius Henderson have also been let go.

Former England international Joe Cole had his contract cancelled ahead of the final game of the season, Sunday's 2-0 win at Oldham, to enable him to move to Florida with North American Soccer League side Tampa Bay Rowdies.

In addition, the option of a one-year extension on defender Chris Stokes' contract is to be taken up and there will be further talks with captain Sam Ricketts and striker Marcus Tudgay over whether they remain at the club.

Under-21 players Kyle Spence and twins Dion and Devon Kelly-Evans have all been offered new contacts, as will midfielder Ivor Lawton.

City's two on-loan strikers, 20-goal Adam Armstrong and 10-goal Jacob Murphy have returned to their respective Premier League clubs.
