Gillingham: Captain Doug Loft among four released by League One club

Doug Loft will leave Gillingham in the summer after two years serving as club captain

Gillingham captain Doug Loft will leave the club in the summer along with three other first-team players.

Loft, 29, was made club captain after joining in 2014 and went on to score six goals in 70 appearances.

Left-back Brennan Dickenson, 23, midfielder Jermaine McGlashan, 28, and goalkeeper Glenn Morris, 32, will also be released when their deals expire.

New contracts have been offered to goalkeeper Stuart Nelson, 34, defender John Egan, 23, and six others.

Defender Mitchell Dickenson, 19, utility man Aaron Morris, 26, midfielders Elliott List, 18, Emmanuel Osadebe, 19 and 26-year-old Josh Wright have also been offered deals by the Kent side, who finished eighth this season.

Youth product Darren Oldaker, 17, has been offered professional terms by the Priestfield Stadium outfit.
