Bradford City: German consortium buys League One club

Bradford City spent two seasons in the Premier League between 1999 and 2001

League One side Bradford City have been taken over by a German consortium.

The Bantams finished fifth in the third tier this season but were knocked out of the play-offs by Millwall.

Joint chairmen Julian Rhodes and Mark Lawn are expected to move aside when the move is completed, with German-based investors Edin Rahic and Stefan Rupp leading the purchase.

The club announced earlier in May that it would continue its policy of offering adult season tickets from £149 in an attempt to surpass the 18,000 sold for this season.
