Antonio Barragan: Middlesbrough sign Valencia defender

Barragan made just one substitute appearance while at Liverpool - a Champions League qualifying match in 2005-06

Middlesbrough have signed Valencia defender Antonio Barragan on a three-year deal.

The 29-year-old has made over 100 appearances for Valencia, scoring twice, after spells at Deportivo La Coruna and Valladolid.

The right-back also has English experience, having been at Liverpool when he was 18.

He is Aitor Karanka's sixth summer signing as the club prepare for their return to the Premier League.
