Forest Green Rovers have signed former Bordeaux goalkeeper Simon Lefebvre on a two-year contract.

The 6 ft 8in 19-year-old, who did not make a senior appearance for the Ligue 1 side, is set to play his first game for Rovers in a pre-season friendly against Slimbridge on Monday.

Rovers Manager Mark Cooper said signing the Frenchman "was too good an opportunity to turn down."

Lefebvre will compete with Jonny Maxted and Sam Russell for a starting spot.
