EFL Cup: Barnsley 1-2 Northampton Town (AET)
- Published
John-Joe O'Toole's extra-time winner against Championship side Barnsley moved League One club Northampton into the EFL Cup second round.
The home side took the lead when Adam Hammill's free-kick was headed in by the unmarked Josh Scowen.
Barnsley goalkeeper Adam Davies fumbled a Matt Taylor corner into his own net to gift the Cobblers a leveller.
Substitute Stefan Payne then hit the bar for the Tykes before O'Toole met a Taylor corner to nod home the winner.
