Ross Fitzsimons: Braintree Town sign ex-Bolton goalkeeper

Ross Fitzsimons did not make a senior appearance at Bolton or first club Crystal Palace

Braintree Town have signed goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons as cover for the suspended Jamie Butler.

The National League club have not disclosed the terms of the 22-year-old's deal.

Fitzsimons, who was released by Bolton at the end of last season, had a loan spell at Bishop's Stortford last season and is eligible to make his debut in Tuesday's game at Maidstone United.

Butler was sent off late on in Saturday's 3-1 defeat by Macclesfield.
