Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was dropped by Borussia Dortmund, who beat Sporting Lisbon to reach the last 16 of the Champions League.
Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel said the 27-year-old was left out for "internal reasons".
Tuchel said "the matter is now settled" and Gabon forward Aubameyang will return to the side for Saturday's Bundesliga trip to Hamburg.
His replacement Adrian Ramos scored the only goal against Sporting.
Former Hertha Berlin striker Ramos rose to meet Matthias Ginter's cross and looped a header into the corner of the net.
Aubameyang, dressed in a black coat, scarf and fedora hat, watched the match from the stands.
