Macaulay Gillesphey: Carlisle United keep Newcastle defender on loan

Macaulay Gillesphey has scored twice in 49 outings on loan at Carlisle

League Two side Carlisle United have extended the loan spell of Newcastle United defender Macaulay Gillesphey until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old first joined the Cumbrians on loan in September 2015 and has been with the club again this term.

"We see ourselves as very much a part of Macaulay's medium and long-term development," said boss Keith Curle.

"We like working with him, he likes working with us and he knows he has more to give."
