Championship side Birmingham City have appointed Paul Groves as first-team coach on a 12-month rolling contract.

Former Bournemouth manager Groves joined Birmingham as part of manager Harry Redknapp's coaching team for the final three games of the season.

The 51-year-old had previously worked alongside Redknapp at Portsmouth between 2006 and 2008.

On 12 May, Redknapp signed a one-year deal to stay on as Birmingham boss after helping them avoid relegation.
