Women's Super League One club Arsenal Women have appointed Australian coach Joe Montemurro as their new manager

Montemurro was assistant coach at Melbourne City and replaces Pedro Martinez Losa, who left the Gunners on 25 October after three years in charge.

The 48-year-old led Melbourne City Women to the W-League title in their first year of existence in 2015-16 and they were champions again last season.

Arsenal Women are fourth in the WSL 1 table, five points behind Chelsea Ladies and Manchester City Women after four games of the season.
