Milton Keynes Dons 1-1 Southend United
- Published
Kieran Agard netted his third goal in two games to salvage a draw for MK Dons against Southend.
Stephen McLaughlin had opened the scoring for Phil Brown's side before the break with his third goal of the season after Josh Wright missed a fourth-minute penalty for the visitors.
But the hosts were awarded a spot-kick of their own midway through the second period, Agard finding the net from the spot to rescue the Dons a point.
The visitors wasted a golden opportunity to take the lead after referee Tim Robinson awarded the Shrimpers an early penalty, but Wright's effort was comfortably saved by Lee Nicholls.
After dominating much of the first period, Southend took a deserved lead in emphatic fashion on 27 minutes when McLaughlin picked out the top corner of Nicholls' goal with a stunning left-footed strike.
The Dons levelled midway through the second half after referee Robinson pointed to the spot for a second time after Chuks Aneke was brought down inside the box, before Agard slotted home.
