Highlights: Newport County 2-0 Cambridge United

Joss Labadie sent Newport County into the third round of the FA Cup after the midfielder scored twice to beat Cambridge United at Rodney Parade.

The skipper struck within two minutes, turning in Matthew Dolan's cross.

Cambridge applied huge pressure on the hosts after the break and Uche Ikpeazu thought he had equalised, only for Ben White to clear his shot off the line.

But the Exiles held firm and, when Nouble crossed from the right, Labadie volleyed home superbly to seal victory.

Newport's only third-round appearance in the last 32 years was two seasons ago, when they were beaten by Blackburn Rovers.

But Mike Flynn's side can now look forward to the third-round draw, and a potential money-spinning tie against a Premier League club, which takes place live on BBC Two and online at 19:00 GMT on Monday.

Newport County manager Mike Flynn told BBC Radio Wales:

"I don't ever tell the players to sit back and the first 10 minutes of the second half we were too deep for my liking.

"As soon as they got that on board and started pushing up the pitch and made the right decisions, we could have scored a few more goals.

"Being a Liverpool fan I'd have to say I'd like Liverpool but any of the big clubs, Manchester United, Arsenal, even somebody like Newcastle would be big for us - although I'm not sure I'd like to go to Man City at the moment if I'm totally honest!

"I'm going to have to have my sensible head on and say that I'd rather be away because it would be worth so much more for the football club and that's what's more important to me."
