Danny Seaborne: Exeter City re-sign centre-back after almost eight years away

League Two Exeter City have re-signed centre-back Danny Seaborne.

The 30-year-old began his career at St James Park and helped the club win promotion from the National League to League One between 2007 and 2009.

Seaborne comes in after Troy Brown injured his knee last week, while fellow centre-back Luke Croll is still out with a groin problem.

Seaborne had been without a club since leaving Scottish Premier League side Hamilton Academical in the summer.

Exeter, who are fourth in League Two, have not disclosed the length of Seaborne's agreement at the club.

"He will strengthen the competition for places we have in defence," manager Paul Tisdale said.

"He offers a wealth of experience having played in the Championship and Scottish Premier League since departing St James Park in 2010."

Seaborne has played for seven sides in England and Scotland including Southampton, Charlton, Bournemouth, Coventry City and Partick Thistle.

Brown was forced off after just 14 minutes of the League two fixture with Accrington last week with Tisdale telling BBC Sport he will be "out for a significant length of time".
