Craig Levein wants Hearts to "keep doing what we're doing"

Hearts manager Craig Levein says the Edinburgh side's recent winless run is the most "frustrating" of his career.

The Premiership outfit have yet to win since returning to a redeveloped Tynecastle and are without a home win since October.

"It has been the most frustrating period," said Levein. "My view on this is just keep doing what you're doing.

"If you look at our stats we need to score more goals. I don't think our defending is a huge problem."

Hearts, in sixth spot in the table, host Motherwell on Saturday and Levein is determined to end their winless sequence - stretching back to a 1-0 victory against St Johnstone.

"We are working extremely hard and that's what all the data is telling us as well," he added.

"Things are not going our way at this moment in time."

Levein expected to face challenges when he succeeded Ian Cathro in the summer but is confident he can steer Hearts through their current disappointing form.

"I did actually [expect the challenges], I did feel we needed some stability," he added.

"We needed somebody who had been over the course before. There isn't a second of this that I thought was going to be easy. It's never been easy or everybody would be doing it. I understood that but it's just more frustrating than I thought it would be."
