Drew Talbot: Chesterfield re-sign full-back after Portsmouth exit

Drew Talbot helped Chesterfield win promotion from League Two twice in his first spell with the club

Chesterfield have re-signed full-back Drew Talbot on a deal until the end of the season, starting on 1 January.

The 31-year-old had his Portsmouth contract terminated by mutual consent on Tuesday after making nine league appearances in 18 months.

He made 244 league appearances for the Spireites before leaving for Fratton Park in June 2016.

Boss Jack Lester told the club website: "He's a versatile player who will be a very good signing."
