Darren Lyon: Hamilton Academical midfielder agrees new deal until 2021

Hamilton Academical midfielder Darren Lyon has agreed a new deal with the club until 2021.

The 22-year-old is expected to sign a three-year contract, having started his senior career with Accies in season 2013-14.

Should he play in Saturday's Scottish Premiership match against Partick Thistle on Saturday, it will be his 50th Hamilton appearance.

"Everything has been agreed and I am happy to be signing it," Lyon said.

"I'm enjoying my football here so I'm happy to extend my contract.

"Over the last few years I've had a few injuries and stuff like that, and I need to repay the manager [Martin Canning] and [chairman] Ronnie [MacDonald] and the rest of the board for showing faith in me and giving me a new deal."
