Storm Eleanor sees three Irish Premiership games abandoned

Tuesday night's three Premiership games were abandoned because of strong winds from Storm Eleanor.

The Glentoran v Warrenpoint and Cliftonville v Ballymena United matches were halted at half-time and they were soon followed by Ards v Glenavon.

The wind grew in strength as the fixtures progressed and the conditions were deemed too dangerous to continue.

Glenavon were leading Ards 2-0 at the time while the other two games in Belfast were level.

Joel Cooper, who has returned to Glenavon after a spell in the United States, scored both first-half goals for the Lurgan Blues in Bangor.

Jude Winchester put Cliftonville in front at Solitude before Kyle Owens levelled for Ballymena with a deflected strike.
