Milton Keynes Dons 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

  • Published

MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon shared the spoils in a tight goalless draw at Stadium MK as the two rivals failed to distance themselves from the League One relegation zone.

Andy Barcham wasted a golden opportunity a minute from time as Wimbledon slipped to 22nd in the table after fellow strugglers Northampton beat Bradford.

The visitors started the brighter and almost took a deserved lead when Barcham fluffed a strike on goal that still looked to be dribbling in until Ousseynou Cisse hooked the ball off the line.

Wimbledon threatened again after 76 minutes when Lyle Taylor's lofted cross into the box found Darius Charles at the back post, before the defender's powerful header forced MK goalkeeper Lee Nicholls into a testing save as the visitors looked to take the lead.

And Barcham should have bagged the Londoners all three points a minute from time when he found himself one-on-one with Nicholls inside the box, but his tame effort failed to beat the stopper.
