Harry Pell: Colchester United sign Cheltenham Town midfielder

Colchester have signed Cheltenham Town midfielder Harry Pell on a three-year contract for an undisclosed six-figure fee.

Pell made 118 league appearances for the Robins after signing from Eastleigh in May 2015.

The 26-year-old scored six goals in 42 games in all competitions this season.

"Colchester showed some interest in me about 18 months ago and that continued and became very strong in the last couple of weeks," he told BBC Essex.

"I met the gaffer and [director of football] Tony Humes and after I walked into the gaffer's office I knew that this is probably the right time for me to push on and to commit to Colchester.

"Colchester this season, they meet the ambitions that I have so I'm looking forward to coming in here and putting in some hard work."
