Sunderland were only the second team in WSL 1 this season to concede a goal against Yeovil

Yeovil failed to avoid their second winless campaign after Sunderland fought back to triumph on the final day of the Women's Super League One season.

The Lady Glovers, who finished bottom of the 2017 Spring Series, ended their first full term in the top flight with just two points from their 18 games.

Annie Heatherson's low finish put Yeovil ahead with what was just their second league goal of the season.

Goals from Keira Ramshaw and Bridget Galloway ensured Sunderland prevailed.

Victory sees the Lady Black Cats - whose future in the women's game is uncertain as details of a joint bid for the new women's competition are unknown - finish seventh.

Defeat ended Jamie Sherwood's time as manager of Yeovil, with the club set to go full-time next season after they were given a conditional licence to stay in the top flight.
