Swansea City: Yan Dhanda signs from Liverpool

Swansea City have completed the signing of Liverpool Under-23 youngster Yan Dhanda on a two-year contract.

Dhanda, 19, was the first player of Indian heritage to join the Reds on professional terms, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal in December 2015.

But the Birmingham-born forward is out of contract this summer and has joined Swansea, who were relegated from the Premier League this season.

"I am really happy to be here," Dhanda said after joining Swansea City.

Dhanda moved to Liverpool's academy from West Brom in July 2013.

The former England Under-17 international, who won the up-and-coming player category at the Asian Football Awards in 2013, scored for Liverpool's U23s against Swansea in August.

Dhanda also claimed a last-minute winner against Manchester City and his last appearance for Liverpool included two goals in a 5-1 victory over Chelsea.

"I was excited from the minute I knew Swansea were interested in signing me. I just wanted to get the deal done," he said.

"I wasn't really getting a chance at Liverpool and I wanted to come somewhere where I hope I will have a better chance to play in the first team. I want to show what I can do.

"Once I knew Swansea were interested, I felt the club would suit me. I have watched the football they have played over the years and I hope coming here will bring out the best in me.

"Hopefully I will get a chance to train with the first team and show what I can do. As long as I am playing weekly, I don't mind if it's for the first team or the under-23s.

"If I get that chance to train with the first team, it's down to me to show what I am capable of.

"I am coming here to see how I get on in the first few weeks and then we will see where I'm at."
