Aaron McEneff scored both goals as Derry City got back to winning ways on Monday night against Bray Wanderers.
After two consecutive league defeats, the Candystripes beat the basement side to move up to fourth in the Premier Division table.
Midfielder McEneff's opener came from the penalty spot on 38 minutes after Cory Galvin's foul on Jamie McDonagh.
McEneff secured the win three minutes from time when he cut inside to net a curling shot from the edge of the box.
The home side got off to a slow start and almost fell behind in the 28th minute when Bray striker Daniel Kelly struck the post.
However, Kenny Shiels' men took the lead seven minutes before the break when McEneff beat goalkeeper Evan Moran with his penalty.
There were few chances created in the second half, but the game came to life in the closing stages when McDonagh hit the post with an audacious shot from just inside the Bray half.
McEneff then doubled the lead in the 87th minute when he took advantage of Derry winning the ball high up the pitch to curl home his 29th goal for the Brandywell club.
The win means Derry move above St Pat's Athletic on goal difference and into fourth place in the table.
