Newport County have signed former Forest Green Rovers winger Keanu Marsh-Brown on a two-year deal.

Earlier in the day the Exiles signed midfielder Charlie Cooper on a season-long loan, also from Forest Green.

Marsh-Brown spent three seasons at Forest Green after starting his career with Premier League Arsenal and Fulham.

"I'm delighted to sign for Newport... I want to do well for this team and hopefully help them push as high up the table as possible," Brown said.

"The manager gives me a lot of confidence and he knows what he wants from me next season. That was the main reason that I wanted to sign."

Manager Michael Flynn added: "I'm very excited about Keanu signing. He's one of those players who gets the fans on the edge of their seats."

Cooper, 21, became County's third signing of the week having also landed striker Jamille Matt from Blackpool and defender Fraser Franks from Stevenage.

Newport boss Flynn added: "Charlie is a young, hungry, and tenacious player, he's good technically and will fit into the club's philosophy."

The Exiles are also set for talks with out-of-contract captain Joss Labadie.

Midfielder Labadie is recovering from surgery having damaged his cruciate knee ligament in March.

The 27-year-old is set to be out until at least October and is yet to agree a new deal, although the League Two club remain hopeful of reaching an agreement.
