Lewie Coyle and Tommy Spurr: Fleetwood Town bring in defenders on loan

Leeds United full-back Lewie Coyle and Preston North End defender Tommy Spurr have joined Fleetwood Town on loan.

Spurr, 30, has agreed a season-long deal at Highbury, having previously played for Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn Rovers and Doncaster Rovers.

Coyle, 22, has rejoined League One Fleetwood for six months until 6 January, having spent all of last season on loan at the club.

He was named the Cod Army's Players' Player of the Year last season.

New Fleetwood manager Joey Barton has brought in five players since taking over the League One club this summer.

He has played 23 times in all competitions for Leeds since 2015.
