Wes Harding: Birmingham City defender signs new four-year contract

Birmingham City right-back Wes Harding has signed a new four-year deal with the Championship side.
Harding, 21, who made his league debut for Garry Monk's side in March, ended the season as a first-team regular.
He had already agreed a two-year contract in February - to start from 1 July - but that has now been overridden by the new deal which keeps him at St Andrew's until 2022.
Academy product Harding was Blues' young player of the season for 2017-18.

Monk staying 'sensible'
Birmingham boss Monk has so far made just one signing for the Championship club, Danish left-back Kristian Pedersen from Bundesliga 2 side Union Berlin, for an undisclosed fee.

"Obviously there's other targets and positions we want to strengthen," he told BBC WM. "But it's not a realistic market, that's gone a long time ago.
"It's difficult for every club, but what we're trying to do is to do something sensible. Of course we want to fight hard in the market and I think we're doing pretty well.
"Kristian Pedersen had a lot of offers in and around Europe, some in the higher leagues, but it's a testament to his character to come to Birmingham with the football we're going to play.
"It shows it was a footballing decision, which is good. It's a position I wanted to strengthen and we had the opportunity to do it early which is great."
Pedersen said: "I love English football so it was always a dream for me. I'm just happy to be here. It's a bit of a step-up. It's so physical and technical as well."
