Wycombe Wanderers 0-0 Blackpool

Goalkeeper Mark Howard made a string of fine saves in his second debut for Blackpool to help the Seasiders claim a 0-0 draw at League One new boys Wycombe.

In what was their first match in English football's third tier since 2012, the Chairboys gave a very good account of themselves, but could not make their chances count.

Adebayo Akinfenwa had a first-time effort kept out by the legs of Howard, who rejoined Blackpool from Bolton during the summer.

The visitors then came within a whisker of going ahead four minutes before half-time when Chris Taylor saw his brilliant 25-yard free-kick crash against the post.

Another chance for Akinfenwa came and went early in the second half when he sent a free header from Joe Jacobson's corner over from close range.

Howard continued to frustrate the Chairboys when he clawed away a sensational long-range strike by Michael Harriman before later denying Randell Williams with his feet.

Wycombe finished the match with 10 men when Harriman was sent off for two bookings after innocuously knocking over Nathan Delfouneso.
