Accrington Stanley have re-signed striker Andy Mangan on a one-year-deal, plus Middlesbrough goalkeeper Connor Ripley on a season-long loan.

Mangan, 31, who left Bala Town in July, arrives with the option of a second season in his new Stanley contract.

He previously played for Stanley in two spells between 2005 and 2008, and joined Bala in June having been released by Tranmere Rovers in May.

Former Bury loanee Ripley, 25, is a former England Under-20 international.

Mangan, who comes in after Stanley sold Kayden Jackson to Ipswich Town on Thursday, told the club website: "It's great to be back, this was my first professional club, it's always been special to me."

On Ripley's arrival, manager John Coleman added: "I've been offered about 25-30 goalkeepers over the summer but I've got to make sure I've got the right one and that's taken time. Connor has good pedigree."
