Josh Windass and Joe Garner: Wigan Athletic sign Rangers midfielder and Ipswich striker

Wigan Athletic have signed attacking midfielder Josh Windass from Rangers on a three-year contract and Ipswich Town striker Joe Garner on a two-year deal.

Windass, 24, had been at the Scottish Premiership side since July 2016, scoring 19 times in 71 appearances, and was joint-top scorer with 18 last term.

Former Rangers forward Garner, 30, joins for an undisclosed fee having scored 10 goals in 32 league games.

"Joe has scored over 100 league goals," Wigan boss Paul Cook said.

"Josh is an exciting player with an eye for a goal and he gives us further strength in attacking positions."
