Hamilton Academical have bolstered their squad with four deadline day signings, including a return for striker James Keatings.

The 26-year-old arrives from Dundee United for an undisclosed fee, having helped Accies win promotion in 2014.

Norwegian striker Fredrik Brustad, 29, is on a season-long loan from Molde and midfielder Scott Martin, 21, has switched from Hibs on a two-year deal.

Defender Matt Kilgallon, 34, also joins up after leaving Bradford City.

The former Leeds, Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers centre-half made 46 appearances for The Bantams last season.

"Matt brings significant quality, experience and leadership having played at the highest level," manager Martin Canning told the Accies website., external

Keatings, who has also played for Hearts and Hibs, scored 15 goals for Accies in their successful 2013-14 campaign.

"We know what we're getting with Keatsy - he's got great quality on the ball and he's a fantastic finisher," said Canning.

The Accies boss called Martin an "all action, energetic" player, saying he is a "good fit" for the South Lanarkshire club.

"We've got a healthy mix of options in the middle of the park now," he said.

Announcing Martin's departure, Hibs say they have "retained an interest in the player's future".
