Croatia 0-0 England: How England players rated - plus your verdicts
- Published
England earned the first point of their Uefa Nations League campaign in a pretty dull affair in Croatia.
Gareth Southgate's side played out a largely uneventful stalemate behind closed doors in Rijeka in a repeat of the World Cup semi-final from three months ago.
Harry Kane and Eric Dier hit the woodwork for the Three Lions, but how did you rate their performances? And did Ross Barkley make the most of his opportunity to impress?
Here's how BBC Sport's chief football writer Phil McNulty rated each of England's players in the 0-0 draw...
Jordan Pickford (goalkeeper) - 7
Solid, safe and noisy in these silent surroundings. Couple of decent saves.
Your rating: 5.71
Kyle Walker (right-back) - 6
Back in his favourite right-back position and produced the pass that should have brought a goal for Marcus Rashford.
Your rating: 5.96
John Stones (centre-back) - 7
Solid, reliable and composed. The bedrock of England's defence.
Your rating: 5.85
Harry Maguire (centre-back) - 6
Won plenty in the air and stood out with his shouts of "Harry's ball" before heading clear.
Your rating: 5.55
Ben Chilwell (left-back) - 8
Excellent full debut. Full of confidence and almost created a goal for Raheem Sterling.
Your rating: 5.59
Eric Dier (central midfield) - 6
Usual self. Solid and unspectacular.
Your rating: 6.12
Jordan Henderson (central midfield) - 7
Improved as the game went on as he tried to drive the team forward. Easily England's noisiest player.
Your rating: 4.80
Ross Barkley (central midfield) - 5
Did not fully grasp his big opportunity. Thought he had won a penalty but failed to impose himself on the game.
Your rating: 4.51
Raheem Sterling (forward) - 5
One or two dangerous runs but another goalless game.
Your rating: 4.91
Harry Kane (forward) - 5
Quiet night for England's captain. Might have done better when he headed against the bar.
Your rating: 5.50
Marcus Rashford (forward) - 4
Dreadful night as he wasted two outstanding opportunities to score.
Your rating: 4.03
Substitute
Jadon Sancho (for Raheem Sterling, 77 mins): No rating but a very lively and promising cameo.
Your rating: 6.52
