Bob McHugh scored twice as Morton came back from behind to ensure Gary Caldwell suffered his third defeat in three games as Partick Thistle boss.
Brice Ntambwe's headed Thistle in front but Gary Oliver equalised.
Morton took the lead when McHugh headed in Jack Iredale's cross, before Iredale himself squeezed in the third.
McHugh slotted a fine individual goal to make it four, then Michael Tidser's speculative strike from 30 yards found the bottom right-hand corner.
Morton have now won three of their last four matches under Jonatan Johansson, while Partick Thistle slip to six successive defeats.
Greenock Morton Jonatan Johansson: "Bob McHugh's been fantastic and it's a shame he didn't get his hat-trick. He works so hard and he's intelligent. His first goal was excellent.
"He helps the midfield defensively and in the box, if you can get the ball to him, he's dangerous."
Partick Thistle manager Gary Caldwell: "I'll fix it. I just said to the players I will fix it. But right now every week that goes by, another player gets ticked off the list that I don't think will be part of it.
"The three teams we've played wanted it more than we did, and that has to change."
