Accrington Stanley midfielder Sam Finley has been given a five-game suspension for violent conduct by the Football Association after appearing to stamp on Charlton's Lyle Taylor.

Saturday's incident was not seen by officials but caught on camera.

Taylor and Accrington's Jonny Maxted were sent off following a mass brawl in which the Finley incident occurred.

Finley admitted the charge but contested the FA's claim a standard three-match penalty was insufficient.

An Independent Regulatory Commission upheld the FA's suggestion to increase the suspension to five matches in light of the severity of the incident.

Earlier on Thursday Accrington were charged with failing to control their players in an orderly fashion in the same League One game, which they lost 1-0.
