Notts County have signed experienced midfielder Michael Doyle from League One side Coventry City.

The 37-year-old has also played for Leeds, Sheffield United and Portsmouth.

The Magpies have also signed striker Virgil Gomis, 19, from Nottingham Forest and 20-year-old defender Sam Stubbs from Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the season.

Stubbs is the son of former Bolton, Everton and Celtic defender Alan and joined Boro from Wigan in July 2018.

Neither Stubbs nor Gomis have made their first-team debut for their respective Championship club.

Meanwhile, the Magpies have released Slovakian goalkeeper Branislav Pindroch, 27, early from his contract.
