Newport County have signed striker Adebayo Azeez, Ben Kennedy and forward Harry McKirdy on deadline day.

Azeez, 25, joins the Exiles on a permanent deal while Stevenage's 22-year-old midfielder Kennedy joins on loan until the end of the season.

Kennedy has already scored six goals in League Two for Stevenage this season.

Aston Villa forward McKirdy, 21, has also joined on loan for the rest of the season having scored against Newport while on loan at Crewe last season.

"I'm delighted. He [Azeez] has got blistering pace, He adds to our attacking line-up and the competition for places shows we are planning for the future as well," Newport boss Michael Flynn said.

"I am so pleased it is all over the line now. As soon as I heard about Newport's interest, I was up for coming down and signing straight away," said Azeez.

Kennedy has scored 27 goals in 133 appearances for Stevenage since his debut in 2015 and has seven appearances for Northern Ireland's Under-21 side.

Speaking after Kennedy's arrival, Flynn said: "It's a great bit of business for us.

"He's a player I have always liked, every time he has played against us he has caused us problems."

McKirdy, who has also spent time on loan at Stevenage, is yet to make a first-team appearance for Aston Villa, but Newport manager Flynn says the youngster is "highly thought of" at the Midlands club.

"He got some great experience at Crewe last season and I am happy that it is over the line," Flynn added.

"He adds to our numbers up front and gives us some real strength in depth until the end of the season. I am very excited to be working with him."
